Vermont Law School, JD, cum laude, 2011

Betsy received her JD from Vermont Law School, in South Royalton, VT. She worked as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Ronald B. Leighton in Federal District Court in her third year of law school, and practiced family law with Idaho Legal Aid in the summer of 2010. She also interned with the City of Seattle in 2009, assisting prosecutors in the domestic violence unit.

During law school, Betsy was a member of the VLS Moot Court team, where she was named Best Oralist during her 2010 moot court competition. She received the Honorable Christina Reiss Scholarship in 2011, an award given to a VLS student who advances women’s law issues. She also received the National Association of Women’s Lawyers Award in 2011, which is given to a student who is dedicated to promoting the interests and progress of women’s legal rights.
